I sat down to ask Justine 21 questions about herself that many don’t know the answer to.
Well…
Maybe a JJ super fan.
But I know I sure didn’t know many of these.
So without further ado...
Let’s get into this Q&A with JJ
Do you have any nicknames?
I’ve had a few nicknames growing up. I would say the strangest one was Busta which stuck with me all throughout middle school (long story lol). The one that’s still ongoing is just J.
What’s your ideal dream job?
ideal dream job if I possessed those talents would be a singer/performer. Now it’s to become an actress.
Would you do Love Island all over again? / Do you still believe in the process?
Absolutely would do LI again. It was one of the best experiences of my life that opened so many doors I didn’t even know were possible or that I even wanted at the time. I’m still hopeful about the process … in other countries lol
Would you like to appear on the upcoming spin off Love Island Games aka All Stars?
100%. I'd love to.
Have you dated since the island?
Yes and unfortunately the streets have not gotten any less ugly lol

How long was that relationship?
Far too long lol longer than it should have been.
What’s a short term goal of yours?
Win the next Challenge season that I get on.
What’s a long term goal of yours?
Become an incredibly successful actress and appear in films with some of my role models. (A project with Issa Rae and or Ava Duvernay is a dream)
Do you consider yourself a spiritual person?
In a religious way, yes.
What’s something you can tell ZetaConfidential that nobody knows about you?
Since Love Island I got my ears pinned. Probably obvious but a question I’ve gotten a few times with people wondering if it’s meant to be a secret. It’s not lol I have a YouTube video started on the journey that I just never got around to finishing but will definitely touch on it in upcoming videos when I make my YT comeback lol
Who’s your celebrity crush?
Forever and always MBJ
What are you most proud of?
My ability to step out of my comfort zone and believe in my abilities and capabilities to do the things I never thought possible. I see the constant growth within myself daily and I can’t be grateful enough to my family and my audience for encouraging me to not only chase my dreams but be an example for other black girls as well.
Are you a part of ZC NATION?
Duh!!
Z: Indeed you are. We love to hear it.
Tell us what your parents were like during your childhood.
Incredibly hard working and the most loving parents I could have ever asked for. My moms faith is the most inspiring and admirable thing about her. She’s been through some things but her faith and heart has never wavered and I love that about her. She’s a big part of the reason my heart is set up the way it is lol
My dad isn’t a man of many words but when he is, he’s comedy! (Z, maybe that’s who I take after lol) He is truly one of the strongest people I know who’s lived through some of the craziest life experiences and his love and willingness to always put his family first is everything I love in him and expect in my future person. I genuinely have the best example when it comes to the type of parent I wanna be one day.
Z: You definitely get it from your dad.
Something I tell J all the time is that she’s quite comedic. To which she replies that not many ppl if at all tell her this ever. This comes as a complete shock to me because Justine makes me laugh in conversation 90% of the time.
Was there a time you wished you were someone else? If so, who?
Sometimes I wish I was Beyoncé but honestly, no. My life experiences post Love Island have given me a level of self love and confidence within myself that I genuinely love being me.
We love that for our girl.

What things do you want to see change in the industry?
Opportunities and compensation for black creators. It’s common in any work space but actually seeing different ways in which that has directly affected me was incredibly eye opening. But it’s no secret that we always have to work 10x harder than our white counterparts and I’m just so thankful for how incredibly supportive my audience continues to be in every aspect of my life and career.

Many have tried to sit down with Justine for a podcast since the tumultuous ending of her LI S2 relationship.
But she has chosen to move forward gracefully without discussing what went down.
To be fair…
As an insider, I can honestly say that the public got the gist of it.
It’s been 3 years now & there’s no need to reopen that can of worms.
J has fully moved on & is now able to watch her season & other seasons of LI.
A little fun fact:
J actually did not watch my season of LI before us becoming friends.
Lol.
Sort of cool.
No?
It’s only quite recently that she has begun watching some episodes of S4!
Why?
Bc she dishes that she was suffering through a bit of PTSD & couldn’t really stomach watching the latter LI seasons.
As someone who has now gone through something similar as her, I must also admit that it will be very hard for me to watch this upcoming LI season (5).
As much as I am healing, I am not fully healed.
I know this because even trying to watch LI UK S9 & seeing tweets online of just how in love the new winners Kai & Sanam were was a massive trigger point for me.
I fully had to disconnect from the internet & watching the show all together.
Unfortunate?
Yes.
But also just real?

I pray that by the close of this 2023 year I will be healed to a point that I can watch LI again.
Regardless…
I’ll be ready to host if I get that call.

What's your favorite movie to watch over and over again?
I don’t think I have a specific movie I can watch on repeat but I love a good “throw back feel-good” which is my go-to category on Netflix. The ones that give you that nostalgic feeling of going to blockbuster and renting a movie. My all time favorite movie though is Apocalypto but it’s not one of those ones where you just casually watch to cheer you up haha
What's your biggest fear?
This is a fairly new fear that wouldn’t have been the case 3 years ago. My biggest fear is failing in this industry. I think even though I have such high hopes and drive right now, this isn’t something I went to school for or am well versed in knowledge wise or even experience. Everything is new and every day is a learning experience and being in an industry with such vast competition, especially when sometimes you don’t know where to start or get your foot in the door to pursue the things you’re trying to, it gets extremely intimidating. I’m lucky to have my supporters who inspire me every day for real because they stay locked in with me and believe in me when sometimes I might lose that faith and belief in myself. Right now though, I don’t see myself failing. I can’t lol
What's a bad habit you had that you've been able to overcome?
I would say my timeliness. Not all the way there but I’ve gotten so much better at not being extremely late to things. Another one I’m working on that drives me crazy is remembering peoples names lol. I can be introduced to someone and immediately, within seconds, forget their name and I hate that. I try to make a conscious effort to really work on that now because there’s nothing I hate more than people having to remind me their name or that we’ve met, I find it so disrespectful on my part. Lol
What's your favorite food of all time?
French fries! And pasta. That will forever be what I request as my last meal. Lol I said GIMME EVERY CARB IN EXISTENCE lol
Of all the personal questions I could ask you, what's one you wouldn't want to answer?
Lol. You know most personal things about me so I guess this is for our ZC Nation sissy's. I would say probably relationship questions and you know why. One day when I’m settled and can look back, in a current state of love and happiness, I’ll definitely be more open about all my past relationships. Presently I’ve so LOVED and appreciated so much that my knowing and unknowing supporters have been so respectful of my privacy as I figure out my journey to love. It’s messy, at times humiliating, often painful but it’s molding me and a bitch gon stay positive and in the game 🤣😭 I swear I just wanna be married and out the streets already! LA is an ugly place to date too. Hearts like ours ain’t built for this city Z 🤣🙃
Z: Listen. That's all facts. I heard I need a man from the South. That they're more chivalrous & respectful of women. But J like you've said before & like I've said to you before... I think your man is a Brit 🇬🇧
