A TRAITOR ON TV IS A TRAITOR IRL

āš”ļø
āš”ļø

Nah,

I’m trolling with this title

but I genuinely mean it.

& we’ll get into why in a bit.

LOL.

But what’s uppppppp zc nation.

We back bby.

I’ve missed you.

I’m really excited for this year you know?

Ready to do a little more.

Make a little more.

Smile a little more.

Learn & do A LOT more.

I’m starting to see a pattern with my odd and even number years.

but I won’t say out loud which years are usually more positive than the other bc that would keep the cycle going.

I want every year to have its good & bad.

Not anticipate a fully bad year every other year.

Feel me?

Every year is a great year to be alive

TRAITORS

I haven’t been tuned in YET to this particular season of Traitors but I’ve loved the previous two seasons.

the concept of the show is spectacular.

& I adore studying how ppl move.

& how far they go.

which is why I majored in psych.

I seem to have a good read on ppl.

Although some have done quite the job of masquerading who they are to me successfully

LOL

Regardless,

There were always signs.

🪧

I bring up traitors bc being in the reality space you come across a few.

& it’s brought me to the question…?

Is how you move on TV how you move IRL?

IMO.

Surely.

That’s my immediate & instinctual answer.

Bc if not then who are you moving like?

A different version of yourself?

Perhaps.

it’s no secret human beings can be multifaceted in character

& that dire times can bring out a side of you that you’d have never imagined could come out of you

but there will always be a core nature in each & everyone of us that won’t change & that’s what I wanna hone in on.

SASHA FIERCE

You may or may not have heard of this rising star, Beyoncé ✨

🤣

i’m a joker.

But I bring Ms. B up bc her persona Sasha fierce is a direct representation of what I’m talking about.

She created the name & persona as a tool to help her step into the energy she wanted to embody on stage.

A lot of the time there’s a version of ourselves we want to become that we’re too afraid to embody.

For B this was Sasha fierce

Makenasage IG details the essence of B’s alter ego.

What it takes to get your mind to break out of the shackles that keep you ā€œsmallā€, docile or simply not who you WANT to be is simply an aura you choose to embrace or not

The thing is your alter ego is still you.

Reality TV

on specifically game or challenge based shows, contestants are forced to make decisions that the public thinks they wouldn’t have otherwise made if not in that scenario.

but that’s false.

Any decision you make to get ahead or win money is indicative of who you are as a person & the lengths you’d go IRL (in real life) to win must be light years more intense

When I watch ppl snake their friends on a show in the name of reality TV I’m always weary of them IRL

šŸ

It’s definitely slightly different than ppl who become friends ON the show bc it takes time to build trust.

& it’s a little different on shows like traitors where your whole livelihood on the show is attached to engaging in traitor like behaviour.

But even then we see ppl who couldn’t ever win the show.

Why?

Bc they’re not built like a traitor at their core.

So they fail at succeeding.

Yes when our backs are against the wall & we have no loyalties other than to ourselves & our family back home then it’s different.

You do what you gotta do!

& i’m not judging for that, it’s quite commendable even.

Like the shows Beast Games or Squid Games.

these ppl don’t know each other at all but get to know each other w time through competing

You’ve got to form alliances & at a time in point if you get far enough you will have to go against each other.

that’s understood.

But if your alliance gets you far enough to the end & you then turn on them before necessary TO ME, your character is shot.

Especially on a show where nothing is do or die.

Let’s be honest.

Anyway,

that’s all.

Don’t ask me why I was so keen on this topic.

LOL.

I just see ppl making excuses for what ppl do on TV separating their TV character from their RL character & I had to write about it bc it’s simply not so.

PODCASTS

Curious on your opinion zc nation.

One of our incoming pod guests can either come on late feb or late April.

If you’re anything like me, which I know you are 🤭 then i’m sure you won’t choose the latter

But for more context, if our guest comes on in April rather than February, they will have a lot more to speak about/debrief on.

So with that information how do you feel?

Either way,

Super excited for this guest & we will have another guest in the interim if this guest is pushed to April.

That’s it for today.

Lemme know your thoughts.

I love you millions.

Confidentially,

Baby Z

Zeta, this is excellent. I, too, studied psychology. It was an awesome thing because I learned how to read nuance and micro expressions. But the one thing that I noticed the most is that in realty TV shows like Love island, or Love is Blind, you are put in a pressure cooker. As you were, I didnt notice any mad moving with you. You were honest to yourself. That character that you displayed and the interviews I watched with you after led me to this blog and to be able to talk to you. To me, you have to be beautiful in the inside , and then your character shines through. In your season, it was really bad turmoil becau…
